Design thinking is basically a problem solving tool that can be employed by any. It involves the proper attitude and frame of mind, along with the right series of actions, in order to solve a problem.

To solve the problem of online food delivery, we’d approach this using the five stage process of design thinking.

Firstly, we'd need to Empathize (1st stage)-
This will be done by making a survey on the processes involved in ordering a food online, the duration of delivery, the problems encountered, what the users feel could have been better etc... This will be done through online questionnaires to get a wider range of responses.

Secondly we'd need to Define(2nd stage) the problem.
The empathy stage has aided us in getting information about the problems and the processes involved in ordering food online, with this we narrow the them down to specifics which will give us a better frame of solving the problems.

Thirdly we'd move on to the Ideation(3rd stage)
Here, we put our solutions on paper by sketching out the wireframes and how they will fit in either accurately or near our users taste.

Then we go on to Prototype-(4th stage)
We transform our sketched wireframes into high fidelity designs on the design software of our choice. This will give us a visual representation of how the end result will be. Here, it is important to apply the principles of design in order to meet our users' needs.
Such as our choice of colours, the buttons and their placement, the page navigation process shouldn't have much technicalities as it must be user friendly, that is, should be operated with minimal assistance.
We'd check other food delivery apps and see what we can use and improve upon their problems to better suit our users' needs.

Lastly, we'd need to Test(5th stage)-
After prototyping has been done, we'd need to test our design to know if we have solved the problems or not. This is done by allowing users to interact with the design, the navigation etc.. if it's rated good...then we'd know we did well but if not....the problems encountered will be improved upon as our goal is to make sure our users' needs are met.
Thank you.
